At Isla Vurma, we view the design and creation of pieces as a carefully crafted, artisanal process. From capturing an abstract idea on paper to transforming it into unique objects that we hope will last a long time.

That's why we wanted to capture our creative process in steps, so you always know everything behind each purchase.
1. Inspiration: listening to what surrounds us
Everything begins with an emotion, an image, a moment. We are inspired by the colors of the sea, the textures of the earth, architecture that tells stories, or the people we meet along the way. Each collection is born from the need to convey some emotion or sensation, be it beauty, calm, strength, desire, or freedom.
2. Conscious design
When an idea takes hold, we begin to shape it. Sometimes we use paper, other times we draw on an iPad or Blender. We try to give shape to that object. We test shapes, materials, and combinations until we feel everything fits together. In this process, we seek a balance between aesthetics and functionality, without losing sight of our essence: creating timeless, versatile, and meaningful pieces.
3. Selecting materials with purpose
We believe in the value of fine materials, in their ability to tell their own story. That's why we carefully select each component, ensuring they always feature natural stones, gold or silver plating, and ultra-resistant fabrics like sisal or natural fibers. This way, we not only prioritize quality but also strive for the lowest possible environmental impact.
4. Crafts
Once the design is ready and the materials are selected, the magic begins in our workshops. We work with artisans specializing in precious stones, carving, and polishing pieces, and with sisal bag artisans. It's a slow process, which is why we can't (and don't want to) compete with mass production or large factories. Behind every piece are people who have dedicated hours of work, and we want that to be appreciated and considered by the end customer.

From the packaging to the message that accompanies each shipment, everything is designed to ensure you have a beautiful, relaxing experience, filled with love and respect. We want you to feel like you're opening a little piece of this island when you receive a piece from Isla Vurma.
